| The waiting is nearly over!! The scorching, barren, dry summer is behind us. The visitors have long disappeared back up the A30. Car park prices have dropped. Hell, you can even park down at Godrevy and catch a few waves without a million people out of control on various surf craft trying to take your head off!!
That right. It's time for some real running. If you are one of those who bleat on about the Kenyans and Ethiopians being so good then here's your answer!! Believe it or not we actually used to have decent British marathon runners. Ron Hill, Charlie Spedding, Steve Jones and even our local boy Dave Buzz used to crack out marathon times that would win or at least be in the top 5 at London these days. The last Brit to win London, Eamonn Martin in 1993, did so off a good winter of cross country races.
Need anymore encouragement? Ask our lads and lasses who do it every year. Excellent, fun club outings which generate a great club spirit. It's the best training you can get and for just 50p at race it's a bargain!!!
