"Supporting and Developing Local Sports Clubs"
Hub Club is an innovative and unique project funded locally by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and Sport England to address at a local level a national trend of non participation in beneficial sports and physical exercise.
By supporting a newly formed network of local Clubs, Hub Club offers professional support to an essentially voluntary base of workers to improve communication from Clubs to current, lapsed and traditional non members, demonstrate good practice across the network and assist clubs with development strategies to improve sustainability.
Each Club receives support on development and marketing plans, volunteer recruitment strategies, capacity building and revenue funding to support marketing campaigns, coaching costs and organisational support.
Clubs are encouraged to share good practice, resources, ideas and even members across a shared Hub Club Members Database. By sharing details of each individual club’s members the Hub Club can establish contact on behalf of each Club with a much larger group of sports participants. This can lead to econimies of scale and a more sustainable model for local sports development.
Hub Club began in June 2005 and initially had funding for three years, it is based at the Club Resource Centre in Pool, Redruth, adjacent to the Carn Brea Leisure Centre. Hub Club supports a range of grass roots clubs from youth to senior able bodied and for those with a disability.
