Cornwall & Poole battle for SW League honours

It’s tight at the top in Division One of the South West Track and Field League, with Cornwall Athletic Club locked in combat with the defending champions from Dorset, Poole Athletic Club.  Poole reversed the result in the second match at Yeovil recently, on this occasion narrowly beating Cornwall, which leaves both clubs heading the table with fifteen league points, although Poole have a slight 27.5 point advantage in match points.  The equivalent of only a couple  winning performances!!

In the second match Cornwall consolidated their lead in four of the eight age group categories, the Under 17 Men, the combined Senior and Under 17 Women, the Under 15 Girls and the Under 13 Girls, as well as leading the way in the relay competition.

A huge effort is now needed in the remaining two matches, both at Exeter, on Sunday 1 July and Sunday 2 September.  Let's make sure the trophy returns to Cornwall AC this year.  Of course there is also the Cup Match, also at Exeter, on Sunday 10 June.
